Meet John Robert Murphy
John , is a longtime vocalist, songwriter and musician in the New England region. He joined Another Tequila Sunrise in October 2019 to take on the lead vocals and persona of “Don Henley” to help round out the 7-member band of seasoned musicians. He has formerly been the lead vocalist for a nationally touring Journey tribute band based in New York since the start of 2010. His vocal range has been often compared to original Journey frontman, Steve Perry, Bono and Robert Plant as well as the stylings of Don Henley. He was even asked by Journey/Santana legend Gregg Rolie to perform a few Journey songs with the Gregg Rolie Band on tour in the summer of 2010. John accepted and performed on three separate dates around the country.
His talents have allowed many years of experience and opportunities to share his vocals in various events such as a lead role in the off-Broadway Irish “Rock Opera” called A Song for Ireland, the National Anthem at Fenway Park, nationally televised NASCAR, Gillette Stadium, and the Lowell Auditorium opening for Irish Tenor John Mcdermott twice, as well as performing at many other venues over the years throughout the country. John also has his own original-music recording projects and continues to branch out working with other talents as well. John resides with his family in the Boston area and is a life-long New Englander.
